Celebrating Excellence: Bryan Kahn ’26 Named National Merit Commended Scholar

The Village School of Naples is proud to announce that Bryan Kahn, Class of 2026, has been named a National Merit Commended Scholar by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC). This recognition places Bryan among the top academic performers in the nation and reflects his dedication, perseverance, and strong college-preparatory foundation.

What It Means to Be a National Merit Commended Scholar

A National Merit Commended Scholar is a high-achieving student who scored in the top 3–4% of all PSAT/NMSQT test-takers nationwide

Key distinctions include:

  • High PSAT Scores: Selection is based on outstanding results on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).

  • Top Performers Nationwide: Commended Scholars rank among the top 3–4% of students who take the PSAT.

  • National Recognition: Unlike Semifinalists, who qualify based on state-specific cutoffs, Commended Scholars are identified through a single national benchmark.

  • Letters of Commendation: Each student receives official recognition from the NMSC as a testament to their academic excellence.

A Reflection of Academic Excellence at The Village School

Bryan’s recognition as a Commended Scholar highlights the strength of The Village School’s college-preparatory curriculum. As a PS–12 private school in Naples, Florida, TVS prepares students to excel academically through rigorous programs such as AP Platinum, AP Capstone, and experiential learning opportunities.

We are incredibly proud of Bryan’s achievement and look forward to seeing the impact he will continue to make both within our One Village community and beyond as he prepares for college and future success.
