⭐🇺🇸 One Village. One Nation. One Future. | Independence Day Greetings

Dear Village School Families,

As we celebrate Independence Day and the 250th anniversary of our nation's founding, I am reminded of the many blessings we enjoy as Americans and the tremendous responsibility that comes with those freedoms. Freedom is not simply inherited; it is preserved by each generation through service, sacrifice, and a commitment to the common good.

This summer, while many families are enjoying well-deserved vacations, time with loved ones, and Independence Day celebrations, there is also great work taking place across The Village School campus. We are finalizing schedules, preparing academic programs, planning student experiences, coordinating athletics, building event calendars, and preparing to welcome students back on August 19 for another extraordinary year.

As I walk through campus and meet with members of our team, I am continually reminded that schools are not buildings. Schools are people. They are teachers who invest in children, coaches who build character, parents who volunteer their time, trustees who provide leadership, students who inspire us with their curiosity, and staff members who work tirelessly behind the scenes to make each day possible.

In many ways, that spirit reflects the very best of our nation. America has always been strongest when people come together in service to something greater than themselves. At The Village School, we strive to do the same. Each member of our Village community has a unique role to play, and every contribution strengthens the whole.

We are especially grateful for the privilege of operating a Christian school where faith is woven into the daily life of our community. We have the opportunity to teach children not only how to succeed academically, but also how to live with integrity, compassion, courage, and a heart for serving others.

As Scripture reminds us in 1 Corinthians 12, "Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it." Each member of our community has unique gifts and talents, and together those gifts create something far greater than any one individual could accomplish alone.

This year, as part of our celebration of America's 250th anniversary, we invite Village families to join us in a special community project. Whether you are celebrating Independence Day here in Southwest Florida, traveling across the country, or spending time abroad, we encourage you to capture those moments and save your photos. This fall, Mrs. Tish Tarpley will lead a special Veterans Day project that will bring together images from Village families around the world, creating a powerful reminder that while our community may be spread across many places, we remain connected through our shared values, gratitude, and love for our country.

This truth is at the heart of our theme for America's 250th birthday:

One Village. One Nation. One Future.

As we look ahead to the start of a new school year, I am filled with gratitude for the families, faculty, staff, alumni, trustees, and supporters who make The Village School such a special place. Thank you for your partnership, your trust, and your commitment to our mission.

May your Independence Day be filled with joy, gratitude, and meaningful time with family and friends. We look forward to welcoming you back to campus very soon. Please note that all summer and back to school information will continue to be updated at tvsnaples.org/student-life/back-to-school.

In partnership,

Dr. Jeffrey J. Cavallo
