Welcome to The Village School of Naples Early Childhood Education Division where our Village Squires become Knights in training…

Since 1985, it has been our priority to offer an exceptional preschool atmosphere filled with experiential learning activities to encourage each child’s emotional, spiritual, social and intellectual growth. Our teachers create a loving and nurturing environment where our children can grow and learn by discovering the world from a Christian perspective. We embrace and model character values such as honesty, respect, integrity, sharing and caring through interactions with the children and one another.

We are excited to empower, inspire and nurture our Village Squire community to learn about the world around them in a creative and natural way while authentically learning critical thinking skills and viewing challenges as opportunities. Our faculty balances a Reggio inspired environment with academic experiences that prepare students for Kindergarten all while fostering the whole child, encouraging them  to discover their individual natural gifts and talents.

While teaching and learning is important to us, our partnership with families is vital to the success of our youngest students, The Village Squires.

We look forward to creating, exploring and growing with you in a positive, nurturing and loving environment.

Blessings,
Kathy Ames &  Janna Outlaw, MA Ed.
ECE Coordinator & Head of ECE & Lower School

At The Village School of Naples, our Early Childhood Education (ECE) Program is designed to foster the development of the whole child through developmentally appropriate practices that balance experiential, child-directed learning with strong academic foundations. We place a special emphasis on nurturing individual interests, exploring nature, engaging with the arts, and embracing the creativity of loose parts play, all within a caring Christian environment. ECE is where students begin their TVS journey and start being known, nurtured and loved!

Social and emotional development is at the heart of our preschool curriculum. Through the Responsive Classroom Approach, we cultivate a supportive and inclusive atmosphere where children learn essential social skills and emotional resilience. Our program also integrates "Christ Skills," which are modeled by our dedicated faculty and reinforced during weekly chapel services, enhancing the spiritual, social, and emotional growth of our students.

Our classrooms are thoughtfully designed with inspiration from the Reggio Emilia approach, creating a "Loose Parts" environment that is welcoming, authentic, and aesthetically pleasing. We believe in surrounding children with natural materials, such as wood, to create a warm and nurturing atmosphere that fosters a deep connection with the environment. This philosophy is rooted in the idea that natural materials provide a sensory-rich learning experience, encouraging children to explore, create, and engage with the world around them in meaningful ways. The materials in our ECE learning spaces are carefully selected to be all-natural, further enhancing this connection to nature.

Both indoor and outdoor spaces are utilized to cultivate experiential, child-directed learning and foster scientific inquiry. The ECE curriculum includes the Splash Into Pre-K program, which integrates Language Arts, Social Studies, and Math components, enriching our PreK 3 academics. For PreK 4, we are implementing Foundations, an Orton-Gillingham inspired Language Arts program, alongside Singapore Math to enhance academic rigor and better prepare students for kindergarten. Additionally, our ECE students participate in a variety of enrichment classes, including art, music, Spanish, and physical education, ensuring a well-rounded early education experience.
